Here's a brief explanation of the Challenge: "Each day in August you are to post about something that makes *you* happy. Pretty simple. And, it doesn't even have to be every day if you don't want it to be. It's a great way to remind ourselves that there are positive things going on in our lives, our communities, and the world."
8/1: It's dawning on me that school begins in seventeen short days. Even though the end of a fantastic summer vacation is near, I'm squeezing as much happy out of it as possible. Today I visited my parents and we laughed and gossipped for a couple of hours, then when I had my car's oil change, the paperwork indicated that all systems are go on the car--that it's in really good shape for being almost 10 years old. And now I'm scrolling through photos of my great-nephew on Bookface. Just an overall happy day.

A healthy car is DEFINITELY something to be happy about--I try to never take that for granted!
I start back to work on Monday, and students come back the following Monday. *sigh* It always goes so fast!
Anyway, here's my happy post link for today: http://www.knitiosynchrasies.net/2014/08/august-happiness-challenge-day-1.html
Happy news indeed about the car. Peace of mind for you and for your wallet.
I love how close you are with your family. Since I left home, I've always lived really far away from them. We talk on the phone, but it's not the same. Have a wonderful day!
