ten things tuesday

Linking up with Ten On Tuesday this week.

This week's topic is 10 Bands (or individuals) You Have Seen in Concert.

1) Elvis Costello. He was solo. Just him and about a dozen guitars. Fantastic storytelling.

2) Sting. Never thought I would see him. A real dream come true. An outdoor concert on a perfect night.

3) Livingston Taylor. I've seen him half-a-dozen times. He's marvelous.

4) James Taylor. An outdoor, sunset concert. We had awesome seats. Much beer was consumed. A good time was had by all.

5) Huey Lewis & The News. Danced the whole concert!

6) The Neville Brothers. Absolutely loved this concert.

7) Suzanne Vega. A small venue, very personal concert.

8) Billy Joel. My first concert. The Innocent Man Tour. Memorable.

9) Sons of Maxwell. A Canadian duo. Really fun concert.

10) Great Big Sea. Another Canadian band. Lots of folky singing and dancing along.

I can't believe how many of us have seen Billy Joel! I forgot about Huey Lewis. That was years ago too.

Oooh, James Taylor. Never did see him live, but wish I had. And Billy Joel, too. :) I'll bet Huey Lewis was a fun concert! :)

I saw James a few years back, it was a great show. I'll bet Elvis Costello was excellent!

Saw an interview with Elvis just this morning. It was interesting because he said everyone wants "Allison," but he seldom feels like singing it any more. So he carefully chooses the songs around it, so by the time he gets to "Allison," he'll be into emotionally. Sometimes, though, he admits that doesn't work and he's just phoning it in.
