not a snob, after all

At first I didn't want to think about a remake of The Sound Of Music. Live? On NBC? Carrie Underwood? Yikes! None of it will live up to the original film with Julie Andrews. I mean... it's Julie Andrews! But then I thought about it some more and realized that I would go to a local theater production of it. So, how will this be different? Other than the fact that it's a major television production. Anyhoodle, I set my DVR. And nothing says I have to watch the whole thing. Besides, I do have a soft spot for Stephen Moyer (a TrueBlood hottie).

Underwood sang beautifully but she is not much of an actress, but adequate. She had wonderful support in the kids and in Steven Moyer. It is a little different than the Movie, more like the stage play.

I'm watching it now (Friday) and feel bad for Carrie Underwood because she's just not up to it. She just doesn't have Julie's passion or enthusiasm. But I agree with BC, she sings beautifully and she's clearly trying sooooo hard. I guess the good that comes of this is that 1) a new generation will see a timeless story and 2) I appreciate the magic of Dame Andrews all the more.
