musing mondays

• Do you listen to audiobooks? If not, why not? And, if so, what has been one of your favorites, so far?

Around the holidays I will sometimes pop in a holiday story while I'm doing my baking. I haven't tried listening to an audiobook in a few years, though, because the last time I did, I drifted off and got thinking about other things and not paying attention. I wonder, now, though, where I've learned to knit if I would listen a bit more attentively and follow the story along.

I'd really like to try Rob Lowe's Stories I Only Tell My Friends. I think it would feel more like a conversation with him rather than a book. This prompt may be just the impetus I need to do it!

I sometimes listen to audio books while I crochet, I feel like I don't have to give up my books while I crochet. Like the saying goes: "I can kill two birds with one stone."

I listened to Julie Andrews read her memoir "Home" I knew I would never take the time to read it, it is such a big book. I enjoyed listening to her read it, it made it so much more personal, like she was right in the room with me relating her life stories.

That sounds so cute! I can picture it now. The house smelling of cookies while the words of a holiday story flow throughout the house :) I'm not a fan of audiobooks but I would like to try the holiday stories! Here is my Musing Monday: agreatescapebookblog.blogspot.com

I listen to audio books, but only in the car! It makes the commute go by SO much faster!

Keep meaning to comment & say I love the new look!

I had an Audible account when I had to commute to school/work and *loved* listening to books on the road, especially if I could get some of the "required reading" books for my classes on audio and kill two birds with one stone. Since then, I've let the account lapse. When I find the time, I'd rather read via Kindle/iBook than listen.

Rob Lowe's would be a good one to listen to. I love listening to memoirs the best.

I listened to Robert Wagner read his autobiography and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Especially when he swore. I mean, that voice! Maybe I'm exceptionally immature, but it really made me smile

Audio books are wonderful on long trips. I love them. It has doubled my reading. I too would like to get Rob Lowe's book as an audio book...another great audio book (for bios) is Kristin Chenowith. Her book is MUCH more fun as an audio than it would be to read.
