• Have you ever found a book out of the blue, read it, and then had it be surprisingly good — one that stuck with you for years? If so, what book was it?
Two books that have stuck with me for years: Light a Penny Candle by Maeve Binchy and Eureka Street by Robert McLiam Wilson. Both books are set in Ireland but they are really very different snapshots of that country. I think I heard about the Binchy book from a review in People magazine, way back when it first was published. But I don't recall how I found Eureka Street. Both books come to mind often when I think about my college days in Ireland or when situations remind me of reading the books. Binchy's is chick-lit and Wilson's is just plain funny.

Funny how our mind brings back these books we read many years ago. I've never read either of these books. But glad to hear you enjoyed them.

I remember reading a Maeve Binchy many years ago, but at my age and all the books, I don't remember the stories. Thanks for stopping by.

I love books that hold life memories in their pages! They are better than photo albums!
