what's your winter personality?

Your Winter Personality is Comfortable

When the weather gets cold, you love to settle in and get cozy. There's nothing better than being tucked under a warm blanket.

You can't help but be influenced by the world around you, and winter is your time to slow down and relax.

You are genuinely nice and a joy to be around. You have a natural serenity that makes others feel calm.

You are unpretentious and very real. You find it easy to connect to others just by being yourself.

i dreamed a dream...

So, according to a dream dictionary, my dream about snakes:

Snake
A powerful dream symbol associated with feminine energy, healing and spirituality. Being bitten by a snake in a dream is actually positive, meaning you are accepting all parts of your nature as you grow into a stronger person. If you dream of attacking, wrestling with or trying to kill a snake (or dream that another animal is doing so), you will have to defend your reputation against nasty gossip. If the attempt to kill the snake was successful in your dream, you will succeed against all hostilities.

And I don't know if this really fits my dream. It was more like the snake was there, not threatening or anything.

surrender...

I can't do it. I can't finish it. There aren't many books that I put down but I just can't do it. I don't care about the characters, the plot has too many threads to follow, and I just don't care enough to wade through page-long descriptions. Now I need to stop feeling guilty for giving up.

monday movie meme

Play along with the Bumbles.

This week's movie topic is all about movies that feature regional accents so bad, they might as well have not bothered at all.

Gah, first one that popped into my mind was Michael Caine in the Cider House Rules.

And the other that jumped out was Drew Barrymore's awful accent in Ever After.

It's interesting that the auditions are featuring fifteen-year-olds. And I think I've finally figured out why I don't like the auditions: we don't get to meet all the contestants. Just a select few. I'd rather not get the back story on any of them than just a few of them. Plus, I really don't like the untalented people. Showing them annoys me.

At least it felt that way. She certainly was the People's Princess. And I wish her first born well. It's so much pageantry and excitement. Festivities.

ten things tuesday

Ten things running around my mind:

1) It's exam week. Whoopdeedoo. We're trying a new exam schedule and it's only so-so.

2) Sometime soon I have to schedule my yearly observation. It's such an artificial process. I wish they would listen to how we might change it.

3) I've had a vague headache all day. I hate the feeling of sort-of-pain.

4) I forgot to set my dvr for Harry's Law. Hopefully I can watch it online. It should be up by now.

5) It's not particularly warm in here. School wasn't particularly warm, either. Time for woolly socks.

6) I need to scour the e-library to fill up my list instead of buying so many books. Now that I've done it a couple of times I know how easy it is and want more. Plus, the price is right!

7) Because of testing and this wacky schedule, I haven't been able to chit chat with my favorite students. I kind of miss them.

8) Is it really only Tuesday?

9) I'm feeling a bit nibbly. I need something sweet. Maybe some applesauce will hit the spot.

10) This ridiculous song is stuck in my head:

1.24.2011

love the script...

blog love...

So, five fabulous facts about me?

1) I am not a good at multitasking. I can barely get one thing done, especially at school. I have to focusfocusfocus on the task at hand or I get way too distracted.

2) Before going to bed, I plan out the next day's outfit so I can avoid having to rush around in the morning.

3) My eye for coordinating colors and accessorizing is spot on.

4) The only thing I don't like about Myles, my nook, is that I can't pass along great books when I'm done with them. I loved putting together boxes of books and shipping them to my sisters.

5) I might have to start writing things down instead of relying on my memory. This makes me sad.

Now, to pass the award on to five other Fabulous Bloggers:
Mrs. Chili who inspires and challenges me to be a better person.
Diana who inspires me to be more involved and aware.
Cat who helps me relax through memes and continually makes me chuckle.
Boliyou who has the neatest finds.
And The Gal Herself who personifies fabulous!

monday movie meme

Play along with the Bumbles.

This week's movie topic is all about movies that contain a form of illness as its theme or feature a character who is sick or diseased.

A couple films popped into my mind--Steel Magnolias, Stepmom, and My Life.

Steel Magnolias is a true chick flick--laughter, tears and a tight bond among the characters. Plus, Shelby's illness is threaded throughout the film.

My Life is a Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman film based on a man's odyssey to fight kidney cancer and document his life for his unborn child.

Stepmom is the story of Susan Sarandon's character learning to accept and befriend Julia Roberts as the stepmom of her children, as she battles a terminal illness.

The actor is "feeling rough," says Piers Morgan, who features the actor on his CNN show Friday.

George Clooney has contracted Malaria following a recent trip to Sudan.
This is according to Piers Morgan, who Tweets that he will feature the actor (and his father Nick) on his CNN evening show Friday.

"It's his 2nd bout of malaria," Morgan Tweets. "Taking medication but feeling rough."

Clooney has frequently traveled to Sudan to try to bring awareness to the possibility of another bloody conflict as the country is positioned to split itself in two.

Clooney's representative Stan Rosenfield said that the actor contracted the disease during a trip in the first week of January (his CNN appearance was taped Jan. 13). Clooney said in a statement: "This illustrates how with proper mediation, the most lethal condition in Africa, can be reduced to bad ten days instead of a death sentence."

The second of the Jackson Brodie mysteries: it is summer, it is the Edinburgh Festival. People queuing for a lunchtime show witness a road-rage incident – an incident which changes the lives of everyone involved. Jackson Brodie, ex-army, ex-police, ex-private detective, is also an innocent bystander – until he becomes a suspect. This story weaves together characters and plotlines and really left me guessing. I did not figure it out. And I want to read more.
